Hospice is all about caregiving to individuals instead of the disease; it focuses on quality of life. It is a care and support for individuals, families, and caregivers when a cure is no longer likely and there is a prognosis of six months or less if the disease runs its normal course. By managing symptoms and controlling pain, we give our patients the opportunity to enjoy the highest quality of life for as long as they have. This gives patients the chance to share more special moments with their family and express all the things they need to say. Hospice and comforting care services are for families’ physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
Caring Hearts Hospice services are delivered wherever the patient calls home. If you wish to remain in your family home, we will come there. If the patient is in an assisted living facility or nursing home, we can partner with the facility to provide extra, specialized end-of-life care.
While receiving hospice care, you will receive visits from your personal team of healthcare professionals including nurses, aides, social workers, chaplains, and volunteers. Our team are trained to meet the patient’s physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, and personal care needs. Our hospice team will help with bathing, administering medication, wound care, companionship, and more.

RN, CASE MANAGER
Nursing has been my passion ever since I was a little girl. I would always worry when any of my family or friends were sick and I would care for them until they felt better.
I have worked as a Certified Home Health Aide (CNA), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and now a Registered Nurse (RN) for several years. My experiences are from the skilled nursing facilities, rehabilitation centers at local hospitals, cardiac care, respiratory care, medical surgical care, liver transplant, ICU in LTAC, and wound care. I took all that experience to care for patients in their own home for Home Health.
It is apparent that everyone will go through the life cycle whether we are ready or not. The trust relationship that was built nursing my patients often prompted them to want to go home on hospice while I was working in home health. Unfortunately, I did not own a hospice at the time. I have learned so much from my patients and their families when they talk about hospice and sometimes even I get nervous because that conversation takes a lot of gift and talent to have. Especially with families losing their loved ones. They often make an inquiry “Why not add Hospice care to your Home Health. We want to keep you as a nurse.” Some will make an inquiry “We wouldn’t mind paying you privately if you can continue to take care of our loved ones.”
Finally in 2018, a hospice company was born. We are servicing all of Oklahoma to include staff titles of the following:
* Medical Director
* Skilled nursing
* Chaplain
* Spiritual Counseling
* Bereavement Coordinator
* Social Worker
* Hospice Aide
* Complimentary PT/OT/ST
* Volunteer program
* Veteran program ( Home Maker)
My nursing background in various settings, my pertinent dedication and unyielding passion have been helping me to successfully care for patients and I hope it will continue to do more for those to come.
RN,CASE MANAGER
It helps to know that you have been given a special gift in knowing how to take care of yourself, family, friends, and the community around you. Growing up as a kid, I learned and enjoyed how I took care of those at an elderly age by watching my older siblings. I began to love helping people who needed a great deal of compassion, support, and care. I would always be there to help the elderly get up and move them to places where they would want to be. I’d set up and clean-up for them when they were unable to in more ways than one.
I started my career as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). It was eye-opening to see how the patients responded when I cared for them. It generated a feeling of responsibility and care, something that emulated a part of the nostalgia of home. Ever since I’ve been working in the medical industry, I’ve worked my way up to be a Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in geriatric care. I have helped several patients and families benefiting from hospice care. So often I would provide support or a listening ear when a patient has just received bad news or if a family needs help navigate a conflict.
Nursing has been rewarding. Working in hospice isn’t a job for me but a true calling. To take care and also help those in need so they can be as comfortable as they can is a feeling, I hold dear.
